Fashion trends and street style have many influences. The political and/or economic climates, the discovery of new fabrics and even nostalgia can all play a part in what will be popular for any given season. We’re seeing a bit of a ‘back to nature’ trend in men’s fashions, especially in footwear and clothing colours. And if you’re looking for nostalgic throwbacks, plan on elegant men’s suits, and shorter shorts!
Top Trends to Look Out For
Like any fashion predictions, you’ll see this or any year, there’ll be trends you like and those you don’t. It’s important to be aware of what’s out there, likable or not, and to keep an open mind about your personal style statement.

Elegance - The trend to elegance is more than a beautiful suit. Tailored and fitted suits are definitely in order. Even more casual clothing, including blazers and jackets, are trending to more elegant styling and colours.

Shades of Sage - Except for winners of golf’s The Masters, green jackets have never managed to trend. But in 2019, you’ll spot a definite move to sage, a very wearable grey-green. And it works for everything you wear, including shirts, pants, bomber jackets, and even denim jackets.

Shorter Shorts - We hate to brag, but we first tipped you off to the shorter men’s shorts trend way back in the spring of 2016. Still, even the esteemed GQ listed shorter shorts second in its rundown of spring/summer 2019 fashion trends for men.
- White Shirts - If any men's clothing is always on-trend, it’s the formal white shirt. But with 2019’s return to elegance, there’s no better time to update your stock of white shirts.
