5 Time-Saving Fashion Tips To Keep Your Clothes Looking Their Best – Part Two

We all want to keep our clothes looking their best for as long as possible.  But sometimes simple, everyday occurrences can ruin or at least take the “zip” out of our clothing.

So we thought we’d give you some tips to keep you looking your best. In Part One, we discovered ways to get rid of ink stains, take your clothes out of the drier wrinkle-free, remove the white salt stains from shoes, always have a great tie knot and not let that red wine spill ruin your favourite jacket.

Without further ado, here are five more (in)genius tips for keeping your clothes looking their best.

1. New Laces Add Pizzaz to Tired Shoes

   One of the reasons we like to keep our wardrobes fresh with new outfits is that we simply become tired and bored of the old look. If you have a favourite pair of shoes that you’re not ready to part with, but want to get back a bit of the “new shoes” excitment, try different coloured shoe laces. You’ll be amazed at how much of a difference they will make.

2. Make Sure Your Favourite Sweater is Always Ready to Go

   Don’t you hate it when you get the last-minute call for a night out, or an important meeting, and when you reach for your sweater, you realize it smells a bit “musty”? Throw the sweater into the drier with a fabric softener sheet. It, and you, will come out smelling great.

3. Avoid the Mothball Smell

   Mothballs are great at protecting your clothes while they are in storage, but they smell awful. Try cedar wood instead. It contains oils that repel moths and kills their larvae. And they smell great.

4. Get Gum Out of Your Clothing

   This is one tip that, if you don’t use it, you could damage your clothing by trying to scratch off the gum. Instead, hold an ice cube on the gum for about a minute. It will freeze and you can just peel it off.

5. Remove More Lint

   Lint brushes are one of the greatest inventions ever, especially if you have a dog that sheds. But you will get better results by wrapping clear packing tape around your hands and patting down your garment. The packing tape is stickier, so it gets more lint.
