Men’s Fashion Trends for 2018

It’s that time of year again. The New Year means tons of predictions, which we never ever look back on to find out if they were right or wrong.

Except in fashion. Generally speaking, what you see n the runway will have at least a strong influence on the fashions you choose from in the store.

So, it can pay off to keep a eye on fashion runways and try to spot the trends. Here are just a few we noticed from the pages of Esquire, GQ and Vogue.

Red

From ties to the entire business suit; on sneakers and casual wear; red; bright, bold, Canadian flag red, (and some darker shades) shows up everywhere.

Athletic Wear

Track pants and matching hoodies; it’s time to get comfy again. Even branded athletic wear, including the traditional Adidas red shirt with white stripes down the sleeve, and team branded gear, including soccer scarves for winter (TFC! TFC!! TFC!!!).

Looser Trouser Fits

If you were never comfortable in skinny jeans, you can start breathing easier. Loose fitting trousers were spotted on runways in Paris, Milan and New York.

The Seventies & Eighties

Like Marty McFly’s puffy jacket in “Back to the Future’, grandpa cardigans, wider lapels, suede jacket accents and leather pants – that’s what we’re talking about.

Vertical Stripes

Patterns and prints weren’t as predominant as they have been in recent years, but vertical stripes were seen on a number of runways. All kinds of vertical stripes; pinstripes, broad stripes, on casual wear, business suits, pants and shirts.

Berets

Just in case you’re into headwear, not only were berets mentioned as a trend by Vogue, we spotted them on every site we checked.

So now you know what’s hot in high fashion, why not stop into Ed’s Fine Imports and try on some classic designs that are on trend, but never out of style.
