5 Time-Saving Fashion Tips To Keep Your Wardrobe Looking Its Best – Part One

You know the shirt. Even if you have a large wardrobe of clothes, you have one, maybe two “special” shirts that, for unknown reasons, fit better, look better and make you feel better than any other shirt you own.

You can’t plan a favourite shirt, it just happens.

And then you spill ink on it.

Dry cleaning might help, or a few dry cleanings. But that’ll keep your favourite shirt on the sidelines for some time – and it may not remove the stain completely.

Quickly getting ink stains out of your clothes is just the first of our (in)genius tips for keeping your clothes looking their best.

  1. Use Rubbing Alcohol to Get Rid of Ink Stains

Dab the alcohol on the stain with a cloth. Use soap and water to get rid of the alcohol and finish cleaning the stain.

  2. Throw Ice Cubes in Your Dryer for Wrinkle-Free Clothes

The dryer’s heat will melt the ice cubes and evaporate the water, creating sufficient moisture in the air of the dryer to get rid of the wrinkles in your clothes.

  3. Use White Vinegar to Get Rid of Salt Stains on Shoes

They are the tell-tale white lines of winter. Rub a mixture of one cup of warm water and a tablespoon of vinegar onto your shoes with a rag or toothbrush. Pat dry with a clean cloth and off you go, salt-free.

  4. Keep Your Ties Tied

Even if you’re a tie-tying pro, you’ll have mornings when you just can’t get the length right or the knot the way you want it. Instead of removing tie knots each night, simply loosen them and remove and store your tie with the knot intact.

  5. Use White Wine to Get Rid of Red Wine

The dreaded red wine stain has been the ruination of many a favourite shirt. While the red wine stain is fresh, hit it as soon as you can with some white wine, which dissolves the compound that gives red wine its colour. You’ll still have to use soap and water to finish the job, but the white wine will have made it a much easier job.

If you like to look your best, but don’t want to waste too much time doing so, these tips will help you accomplish that. Stay tuned for Part 2 where we’ll show you 5 more time-saving tips.
