Menswear Trends for Spring 2018

While these trends for spring 2018 strolled down the runway months ago, now’s the time to take another look to see what you need in your wardrobe to stay on trend this spring.

Below are some of the biggest trends of the Spring 2018 men’s fashion collections according to Vogue.
And we don’t mean to blow our own horn but, ‘toot, toot, toot’. You might have first heard of more than one of these trends right here on our blog!

1. Think of a Colour, Any Colour … There’s a Men’s Suit for That

At first, it looked like it was going to be a pastel spring, then it went a little earth toney, then there was a bit of purple shock, faded gold and baby blue. By the end of it, we realized that there weren’t too many colours not used for men’s suits this spring.

2. The Velvet Underground

And satin and organza too. From suits to shorts, fabrics normally considered the domain of women’s wear is all over men this spring.

3. Hawaiian Shirts

Funky Hawaiian shirts haven’t been far off trend since they first appeared in the 1930s. Also called Aloha shirts and BBQ shirts, the current Hawaiian shirt revival started last summer, which we dubbed the summer of the BBQ shirt when we first mentioned it, but expect this trend to be in full swing this spring and summer.

4. Jumpsuits

Interestingly, while it’s a clothing item that covers up more than most, jumpsuits showed up on more than one men’s spring wear runway. For now, we’ll just call it ‘car mechanic chic’.

5. Who Wears Short Shorts?

Men do. At least according to the runway trends. We first told you about the trend to shorter shorts in the spring of 2016 and they are even shorter this year.
